In this interview, James Bryant discusses his experience attending the segregated Jefferson School and the challenges and discrimination he faced once schools in Charlottesville integrated. He also details his very rewarding career as a music teacher and counselor and the training from Virginia Union that helped him to prepare for these roles. He was able to relate to many of his students and offers advice to today's teachers in building relationships with their students.
