In this interview, Hattie Suber recalls growing up in Newport News, Virginia. After graduating from Huntington High School, she attended Hampton Institute. She discusses her career teaching history at York High School, Grafton High School, Woodridge High School, and Heritage High School, as well as some of her work in helping form an African American History Club.
